About This Technique
Osoto Otoshi (大外落), or the major outer drop, is a foot technique (ashi-waza) in Judo. It closely resembles Osoto Gari, but instead of sweeping the opponent's leg up into the air, you plant or drop your attacking leg downward behind theirs to form a rigid barrier, then drive your body weight forward to drop them over it.
