About This Technique
Deashi Harai (出足払), or the forward foot sweep, is one of the most fundamental foot techniques (ashi-waza) in Judo. It relies on precise timing and balance rather than raw power, catching the opponent's foot at the exact moment it moves—just before their weight settles onto it.
