About This Technique
Sasae Tsurikomi Ashi (支釣込足), or the lifting-pulling ankle block, is a foundational foot technique (ashi-waza) in Judo. It involves placing the sole of your foot against the opponent's advancing ankle to form a solid prop while using a strong upward and circular hand pull (tsurikomi) to wheel them over their blocked leg.
