About This Technique
Morote Gari (双手刈), or the two-hand reap, is a foundational hand technique (te-waza) in Judo that is virtually identical to wrestling's double-leg takedown. It involves changing levels to shoot beneath the opponent's guard, wrapping both hands behind their legs, and driving forward to blast them onto the mat.
