About This Technique
Tai Otoshi (体落), or the body drop, is a foundational hand technique (te-waza) in Judo. Unlike shoulder or hip throws, you do not load the opponent onto your back or lift them; instead, you block their shin with an extended leg while using powerful upper-body rotation and hand torque to pull them over the barrier.
