Uki-gatame
浮固Floating hold
About This Technique
Uki Gatame (浮固), or the floating hold, is an active pinning technique (osaekomi-waza) in Judo. It involves controlling a prone opponent from above while keeping your knees and hips elevated off the mat, "floating" your body weight directly on top of the opponent to maintain fluid mobility and dynamic balance.
