Kuzure-kesa-gatame
崩袈裟固Broken scarf hold
About This Technique
Kuzure Kesa Gatame (崩袈裟固), or the broken scarf hold, is a foundational pinning technique (osaekomi-waza) in Judo. It is a variation of the standard scarf hold (Hon Kesa Gatame) where, instead of encircling the opponent's neck, the attacker reaches under the opponent's arm or shoulder to control their upper body while pinning their shoulders flat to the mat.
