Kami-shiho-gatame
上四方固Upper four quarter hold down
About This Technique
Kami Shiho Gatame (上四方固), or the top four-quarter hold (upper four-corner hold), is a major pinning technique (osaekomi-waza) in Judo. Performed from a north-south position over the opponent's head, it involves reaching under both of their arms to grip their belt or jacket and driving heavy chest-to-chest pressure downward to pin their shoulders flat to the mat.
