About This Technique

Ude-Hishigi-Hara-Gatame (腕挫腹固), or the Side-extended armbar, is a joint lock (kansetsu-waza) where the attacker uses their abdomen or hip as a fulcrum against the back of the opponent's elbow joint. By pulling the opponent's wrist across their body and pushing forward with the stomach, pressure is applied directly to force a submission via hyper-extension.
