About This Technique
Tsuri Goshi (釣腰), or the lifting hip throw, is a foundational hip technique (koshi-waza) in Judo. It closely resembles O-goshi, but with one crucial mechanical difference: instead of wrapping your arm around the opponent's waist, you take a firm grip on their belt (obi) to physically lift their hips onto yours before rolling them over.
