About This Technique
Harai Goshi (払腰), or the sweeping hip throw, is one of Judo's most iconic and powerful hip techniques (koshi-waza). It combines a strong hip entry with an upward sweeping leg action against the opponent's thigh to send them flying over your hips onto the mat.
