About This Technique

Kata Ha Jime (片羽絞), or the single wing strangle, is a classical choking technique (shime-waza) in Judo. Applied primarily from behind the opponent, it uses one arm to control a lapel choke while lifting and trapping the opponent's arm behind their head (like a folded wing) to freeze their defense and intensify the strangle.
