Kata-juji-jime
片十字絞Half cross strangle
About This Technique
Kata Juji Shime (片十字絞), or the half cross strangle, is a fundamental choking technique (shime-waza) in Judo. Applied primarily from groundwork positions like guard or mount, it uses a crossed-arm lapel grip with one palm facing up and one palm facing down to compress the carotid arteries on both sides of the opponent's neck.
