Okuri-eri-jime
送襟絞Sliding lapel strangle
About This Technique
Okuri Eri Jime (送襟絞), or the sliding collar strangle, is a fundamental choking technique (shime-waza) in Judo. Applied primarily from behind an opponent, it uses the opponent's own lapels in a sliding motion—one feeding and pulling the collar to apply pressure across the throat while the other anchors from below—to compress the carotid arteries.
