About This Technique
Yoko Guruma (横車), or the side wheel, is a dynamic side sacrifice technique (yoko-sutemi-waza) in Judo. Most frequently executed as a counter-attack (kaeshi-waza) against forward-turning throws, it involves stepping around an opponent's attack, sliding your leg deep between or behind their feet, dropping onto your side, and wheeling them diagonally overhead onto their back.
