About This Technique

Ura Nage (裏投), or the rear throw, is a major rear sacrifice technique (ma-sutemi-waza) in Judo. Widely recognized as one of the most dynamic counter-attacks in martial arts, it involves stepping behind an opponent, locking your arms around their waist, and dropping straight backward into a back-fall while arching your spine to hoist and flip them over your shoulder onto their back.
