Beyond Grappling Judo Competition

General Information

• Event Overview: A beginner-friendly Judo tournament hosted by Beyond Grappling Club (BGC) on Saturday, 14th November 2026, catering to competitors from Under-8s through to Veterans.

• Special Division: Senior Men's No-Gi division operating under IJF rules with leg grabs allowed (does not count toward Judo ACT point standings).

• Match Rules & Format:

• Divisions run as round-robin where possible, or best-of-3 if only 2 competitors are entered.

• Standard IJF rules apply with golden score: 3-minute contests for Junior/Senior Boys & Girls; 4-minute contests for Cadets & Seniors.

• Eligibility & Minimum Grade Requirements:

• Competitors must be active financial members of Judo ACT or an affiliated Judo Australia state body.

• Under-9s: Minimum White-Yellow belt with black tip.

• Junior & Senior Boys/Girls: Minimum 5th Kyu (Yellow belt).

• Cadets & Above: Minimum 4th Kyu (Orange belt).

Entry Fees

• Early Bird Entry: $40 per division (ends 7th November 2026).
• Late Entry: $60 per division.
• Registration Window: Opens 21st September 2026 and closes Friday, 13th November 2026 at 3:30 PM.
• Entry Terms: Online registration only; strictly no entries accepted on competition day. Entry fees are non-refundable.

Schedule

• Registration Close: Friday, 13th November 2026 at 3:30 PM.

• Weigh-In Options:

• Friday, 13th November: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM at BGC.

• Saturday, 14th November: 7:30 AM – 8:00 AM.

• Tournament Date: Saturday, 14th November 2026.

Weigh-In Conditions:

• Competitors who miss weight during Saturday morning weigh-ins will be removed from the draw without a fee refund.
• Weight adjustments are permitted within official weigh-in windows.
• Boys, Girls, and Cadets must remain clothed during weigh-ins and are granted a 100g clothing allowance.
