Waverley Judo

Located at the Mount Waverley Youth Centre in Melbourne's south-eastern suburbs, Waverley Judo is a community-minded, family-oriented martial arts club operating as a "club of friends." Affiliated with Judo Victoria and Judo Australia, the club is led by Head Coach Andrew Coatsworth and welcomes practitioners of all skill levels, from complete beginners to cross-training martial artists.

The club emphasizes mobility, fitness, balance, and technique over brute strength, adhering closely to traditional Kodokan judo principles and its moral code. Training is divided into structured age-based groups—including "Minions" (ages 5d9), Juniors (ages 10d14), and Seniors (teens and adults) - focusing on building physical coordination, self-defense skills, self-discipline, and confidence in a relaxed setting.
