SouthWest Judo Academy

Established in 2005 by founder and Head Coach Simon Read, SouthWest Judo Academy is based in Port Kennedy, Western Australia. Operating out of a dedicated, permanent dojo facility, it has grown to become one of Western Australia's largest judo clubs, serving over 100 active members.

The academy provides structured, age-tailored programs that range from early childhood physical literacy and games (Kindy Throwers for ages 3–5) through to junior, teen, and senior sessions for beginner to advanced practitioners. Training focuses on building agility, breakfalls, and technical judo skills while embedding traditional values such as respect, discipline, courage, and self-control.
